More on the Room

Here’s a rough sketch on the new sewing room. The storage rack and built-in desk are on the wall with the Vintage Merlot.

I finished adding the outlet covers last night. Now all that needs to happen is some shelving that is built-in and backs to the backroom and attaching my pegboard. I have three machines on the desk and one embroidery machine on the little table that’s between the storage rack and the desk. Love!! room_6

I actually looked for about 30 minutes today for my iron so I could hem a pair of pants. I finally found it but it was too late to work on them. Once I get all the stuff in the right place, that room will be rockin’.

Oh! To have that much room to sew and have so many machines all ready to use - what a haven! You are one lucky girl!

Your new sewing room looks great. And I love the Merlot as well. I did an accent wall in that color too, in my living room. I thought I might grow tired of it, but I still love it a year later. Hope the settling in continues to go well!

Love, love, love the room. FYI this reader of your blog/lurker has been inspired by you to sew a little and is actually wearing memade skirt! And inspired by you, have taken up running (okay so I'm still walking 45mins - I'm working my way up) and feeling a lot better for it. Look after yourself, enjoy your new room! Sew a little or a lot, and thanks so much for inspiring the changes in my life :D

Isn't it wonderful to be able to do something for yourself without consulting anyone ;-) Your new room looks great and I can't wait to see more of what you sew.

Love the room. Recently had to relinquish my studio (it was wonderful) and now work in a very different space. To have everything setup, organized and ready to go, we expect lots of creativity from you:)

I'm doing the same thing right now so it's really interesting to watch your progress.

What a great room! Our youngest has flown the nest and I am using the first few days of my spring break to complete the 'take over' and make it officially my sewing room. I know I shouldn't, but I have to admit I am slightly coveting your FOUR machines...every seamstresses dream. I enjoy your blog and anxious to see the creativity that will soon be flowing from your new digs.

This lurker it so glad to see you back! Love the room! I've been working on converting son's room into "my room" for the past year. Unfortunately, I realized we did need to keep a bed in it. Twin size though, to leave more room for a large desk/table. I painted it (the room, not the bed or desk) purple because I find it soothing and inspiring at the same time.
